In the early hours of 26 April 2026, Silas S.’s* e-bike was stolen from outside a block of flats to the south of Freiburg city centre, despite having been properly locked up. Fortunately, his bike was fitted with a GPS tracker from Yuccie, an IT’S MY BIKE partner.

He reported the theft of his e-bike via the Yuccie app when he noticed it was missing around midday. The Bike Hunter team from IT’S MY BIKE then contacted him, the local police, and set out to search for the bike.

At around 5 a.m. on 5 April 2026, Ron W.* is woken by a notification from the IT’S MY BIKE app informing him that his e-bike is being moved. He immediately checks the parking spot on the hotel grounds in the northern part of Enkhuizen, only to find that the bike has disappeared.

On Sunday, 29 March 2026, Carolin M.* returned to find that her e-bike was no longer where she had left it. She had parked it at Lozère station, north of Montpellier, on 21 March, before travelling on to Marseille. When she returned in the late afternoon, the bike had disappeared.

She reports the theft via the IT’S MY BIKE app shortly afterwards, as her e-bike is fitted with a GPS tracker.

On the evening of 16 February 2026, while out for dinner, Jens V.* receives a notification on the IT’S MY BIKE app informing him that his bike is moving away from his home in the eastern suburbs of Bremen. Upon returning home shortly afterwards, he found that his suspicions were correct: the E-bike had disappeared and the lock had been broken open.

At 8:30 pm, Jens V. immediately reports the theft via the app. Fortunately for him, his E-bike was fitted with an IT’S MY BIKE GPS tracker. Over the next few days, he will remain in close contact with the Bike Hunters from IT’S MY BIKE. The bike’s movements are recorded repeatedly, and its route can be traced. Starting from the eastern suburbs of Bremen, the bike moves further and further west, passing the Ostertor district, the River Weser and the Neustadt district, and finally reaching the Buntentor district.

Outboard motors recovered in Poland. GPS tracker reveals organised theft

Between 2 and 3 February, unknown individuals broke into the boatyard in Sietow and stole the outboard motors from several boats, including Karola G.’s. What the thieves did not realise was that one of the engines was secured with a DAVANCI Connect tracker, a partner of IT’S MY BIKE, which uses GPS tracking technology intended for e-bikes to protect valuable outboard motors.

On the morning of 3 February, Karola G.’s phone rings. It was an employee from the boat workshop. The message was brief and took her by surprise: several engines had been stolen, including hers. Including hers. While she is still processing the shock, the tracker is already active and sending the location of the engines. Rather than driving straight onto the motorway, the perpetrators first stop briefly in the village of Sietow, before continuing on the B192 towards Neubrandenburg and on to the German-Polish border. They then take a break of several hours before continuing their journey on the Polish S3 expressway.

At around 6 p.m. on 16 June 2025, Mark H.*’s bike is stolen right outside his home in Riem. He reacts immediately, reporting the theft just a few minutes later via the IT’S MY BIKE app. What the thief doesn’t know is that the e-bike has a GPS tracker from IT’S MY BIKE. Shortly after the theft, the tracker reveals the bike’s exact location. The Bike Hunters immediately inform the police. The bike is found a little further south at the Riem exhibition grounds.

Anna H.’s e-bike was stolen in the early hours of 22 July from a residential area west of Darmstadt railway station. The bike was secured with a frame lock and an additional lock. The thieves broke the chain lock but failed to break the frame lock, meaning they had to carry the bike, so they didn’t get very far. The police later suspect that the thieves initially wanted to store the bike temporarily in order to prepare it for transporting it by car later on.

At around half past five on 23 June, an e-bike was stolen in the north of the city centre, near Square Léon. The owner had only stepped away for a moment when she returned, her bike had vanished without a trace. At 10.39pm on 6 June, an e-bike was stolen from a home in Frankfurt. The next day, the victim reported the theft via the IT’S MY BIKE app. Fortunately, the bike was equipped with an IT’S MY BIKE GPS tracker, which immediately transmitted its location. Initial data showed that the bike was near the Höchst cemetery, to the west of the city centre.

However, officers were unable to act at this point. When the bike is spotted on the evening of 25 June being transported by vehicle towards the Taunus motorway, the pursuit begins. Thanks to the tracker, the route can be traced seamlessly — at 20:44, the e-bike is precisely located at the Westkreuz Frankfurt motorway junction.

It was stolen at around midnight from a locked courtyard in Berlin, where it had been covered with a tarpaulin and secured to a banister. At around 9:00 a.m., when the coffee had barely had time to take effect, Herbert S. realised that his bike had disappeared, stolen from the bike rack of his camper van. However, he knew that he was not alone this time — his bike was secured by a GPS tracker.

A later analysis by IT’S MY BIKE’s bike hunters showed that the perpetrator began tampering with the bike at 22:26. Approximately 20 minutes later, Mia M. noticed the theft and reported it immediately via the IT’S MY BIKE app. This is because her e-bike is equipped with an IT’S MY BIKE GPS tracker.

At 12:53 pm on 20 May 2025, Titus M.’s bike was stolen in the eastern suburbs of Bremen. He reacted immediately, reporting the theft via the IT’S MY BIKE app at 1:04 pm while the bike was still in motion. The Bike Hunters informed the police immediately, who set off in pursuit straight away. The bike continued to move in an easterly direction.

The GPS tracker on the bike provided its exact location. At 13:20, the bike hunters found the bike hidden in a garden in Blockdiek, Bremen, on a neighbouring green area. However, the initial search is somewhat difficult: the officers suspect that the bike may have disappeared into one of the gardens. However, the GPS signal remains clear, indicating that the bike must be outside the gardens.

Thanks to the GPS tracker, the police were able to seize the e-bike and other stolen goods.

Martin H.’s e-bike was stolen from a gym in Wolfsburg at around midnight on 16 April 2025. He only realised it was missing on the evening of 17 April and immediately reported the theft via the IT’S MY BIKE app, as luck would have it, his bike was fitted with an IT’S MY BIKE GPS tracker. The Bike Hunters immediately informed the police, who arrived with the victim shortly afterwards at a homeless shelter — the last place where the tracker had sent a signal. On 10 December 2024, bicycle dealer Steven K.* from Hamburg reports a serious incident to the IT’S MY BIKE team: three of his e-bikes disappear at the same time from his shop near Hamburg’s city park. The suspicion is that it was a targeted theft. And there is already a suspect.

Double success: police find stolen e-bike and catch e-scooter thief

It is 12 March 2025, 12:15 pm, when Karla I.*’s e-bike is stolen in Darmstadt North, just a few metres from Herrngarten. She didn’t notice the theft until the afternoon and immediately reported it to the police. At 15:01, the IT’S MY BIKE bike hunter team also receives the theft report.

Thanks to the built-in GPS tracker, no valuable time is lost. All the information about the bike and the location of the theft is sent directly to the police, who take immediate action thanks to the close cooperation with the Bike Hunters.
